Why You Should Consider a Day Training Program for Your Puppy!

Potty Training: When you get a puppy, they often are not potty trained. This is one of the biggest reasons some people dislike having puppies. Because our days are so structured at Day Training, it gives puppies ample opportunity to potty outside as well as getting them on a potty schedule. Let us help continue your potty training vs needing to find a friend or dog walker to come to your home while working to let your puppy outside to potty!

Fulfillment: A traditional doggie day care only provides physical enrichment. Our Day Training program offers both physical and mental enrichment which provides a much more satisfied dog. Not only are they getting their physical needs met during the day, they are also working their minds and learning new skills.

Working on Relaxation skills: Many puppy owners dislike working on relaxation skills such as crate training or relaxing on a dog bed. Especially if they have a puppy who isn't good at their relaxation skills and bark excessively (many puppies have quite the shrill barks!) we can teach your puppy in a relatively short time frame, how to relax quietly on a dog bed and in a crate. This makes it so much more calm and enjoyable in your home when you use these tools as management when you cannot devote watching the puppy like a hawk and do not want them practicing behaviors you dislike. We often see puppy parents appreciate a puppy who can relax quietly, even more than obedience training as this makes living with them so much more enjoyable.

Training: Puppies are constantly learning and they pick up on so many behaviors in a short period of time. Every time you interact with your puppy, you take them out potty, you relax around the house with them, they are learning what is acceptable and what isn't. When you bring your puppy to Day Training, the day is structured in a way that teaches them a variety of skills like obedience, relaxation in a crate, relaxation on a place bed, as well as how to interact with other dogs and people appropriately. Not only do they learn a bunch of obedience behaviors, they also build confidence around other people, dogs, and new environments. Now this doesn't mean that you don't have to learn how to interact, train, and maintain the desired behaviors (which is why we still strongly suggest you enroll in classes!) but it definitely sets you on the right path to enjoying life with your puppy!

Puppy Running

Having your puppy in a Day Training program allows them to work with experienced staff. Most pet owners have experience training 0-10 dogs while our trainers have worked with thousands of dogs. This gives you a great jumpstart on training which often times makes it easier for you to train your puppy simply because they already have the foundational knowledge they learned from the trainer. Because of our trainers' experience, we can also catch any possible behavioral issues (or things that can turn into behavioral issues) and address them faster.
