Day Training
A Better Alternative to Traditional Dog Daycare

About

Want to come home to a tired AND better trained dog? Day Training is a great option for many dogs!

Not only will your dog be tired when you bring them home from a day full of fun and play, they will also be better trained too!

Unlike most dog daycare options, our programs are all training & enrichment based. Throughout the day, your dog is being supervised and trained by professional trainers. The whole day is designed to ensure that your dog is not regressing in skills, but rather increasing their skill set. They will learn and maintain obedience skills, learn to have an off-switch so they can truly relax in the home, learn new tricks or activities, and continuation of good potty training habits- going outside for potty breaks rather than potty where they play!

Day Training:

In our Day Training Program:

  • Every dog will participate in an obedience training session,  relaxation training, as well as work on our trick of the month!

  • They will also participate in supervised group play sessions where they learn dog appropriate play, making sure everyone adjusts their playstyle to match their friend, or to find a friend that has the same playstyle.

  • Detailed Report Card- for the first 3 days, available for purchase after!

Training:

  • The Scholar: Basic Obedience Session (Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Loose Leash Walking, Focus, Leave it, Place, Door Etiquette, Greeting Skills, Relaxation/Calmness, Advanced Obedience, etc.)

  • Trick of the Month

Day Training + Activity:

In our Day Training + Activity program:

  • In addition to everything Day Training dogs do, activity dogs will participate in another training activity each day! The type of activity will depend on a variety of factors including your dog's: age, physical ability, motivation level, temperament & skillset.

Possible Activities:

  • The Scholar: Another Basic or Advanced Obedience Session

  • The Runner: Run & Recall

  • The Retriever: Toy Play Skills

  • The Trickster: Trick Training Session

  • The Athlete: Sport Dog Foundations

  • The Fashionista: Cooperative Care (Grooming & Vet Handling)

CK9 Membership & Group Classes

  • How do I make a reservation?
You may email with specific dates to see if we are available, or you can fill out a board & train application by clicking on the Register Now! button from the Board & Train page. When you click on that button, it will forward you to our software Paw Partner. Here, you will need to login to your account, or create an account for you and your dog if you are a new client. Once logged in, you will want to make a Reservation -> Boarding -> fill out all the required information until you have checked out with the non-refundable* deposit to reserve your spot. *You will be notified and your deposit WILL be refunded if we do not have availability to accept your board & train date range.
  • Can I bring extra belongings?
No. We do not allow extra belongings during your dog's boarding stay to ensure the health, cleanliness and safety throughout your dogs stay. If you bring additional belongings, you will be sent home with them.
  • What vaccinations do you require?
For Puppies 16 weeks and younger we require: -Bordetella (Kennel Cough) -2nd series of Distemper (DHPP) For Dogs older than 16 weeks, we require: -Bordetella (Kennel Cough) -Distemper -Rabies We agree with, and accept limited vaccination protocols as long as titer testing is done to prove immunity. In addition, boarding dogs are required to be up to date on flea/tick medication and heartworm medication.
  • Is there a multi-dog discount?
Unfortunately, due to the limited availability with dogs going to trainer's personal homes overnight, we do not have any multi-dog discounts at this time.
  • Do you train aggressive dogs?
Yes, and no. It depends on what service you are looking for and what outcome you are seeking. Most aggressive or reactive dogs are referred to one of our Reactive Remedy Private Lesson Packages. These are 3 or 5 week programs to learn how to manage and reduce the reactivity or aggression seen, and to create a more neutral dog at the SIGHT of another dog or person. It is not to make your dog friendly to other people or dogs, as we cannot guarantee that. True aggression, is almost always caused from genetics, which we cannot change. We do not accept human aggressive dogs into our programs other than private lessons, for the safety of our staff. We do accept dog-dog reactive and aggressive dogs into some of our programs on a case by case basis. Most often, dog reactive dogs do not display the behaviors when the pet parent is not present, so Private Lessons are our recommendation to reduce the behavior.
  • What type of trainer are you? What methods do you use?
We are a balanced training facility. We do not adhere to one specific ideology. We know dogs are all indivuals and that there is no one-size-fits-all to training. Instead, we continually grow our knowledge base and understanding of a variety of techniques so we can tailor the training to your specific needs and your specific dog. When laying foundations, we rely heavily on positive reinforcement. In fact, the vast majority of our training is done with positive reinforcement. However, we do not limit ourselves to one set of tools and use the full learning paradigm to train dogs. We may use food, treats, toys, prong collars, electronic collars, and anything else that a dog may find motivating. The most important aspect of integrating various tools into training is remaining fair and consistent. We believe in clear communication. We find that motivating dogs by rewarding them for behaviors we want and providing consequences for those we don’t want provides the clearest form of communication. Consequences and rewards are relevant to the dog, of course, so our methods vary with each dog. Our goal is to teach the humans, but also train the dogs in a way that is as clear, fair and enjoyable as possible.
