    Cancellation Policy

Malcolm For scheduling purposes, a minimum of 24 hours cancellation notice is required, except in case of extreme emergency. Cancellations resulting in less than 24 hours notice may be charged at the full rate.

Should you wish a total cancellation of all services with Courteous Canines, please make these wishes known to Courteous Canines in writing.

Courteous Canines is currently a one person operation. In the event of illness or emergency, Courteous Canines will make every attempt to give 24 hours notice. If this is not possible, Courteous Canines will inform client as soon as possible that services will not be completed on that day and compensation will be given to client.

In some cases a trusted substitute may be available to complete the service. Clients will be informed of the change and given the option of declining the services of the substitute.

    Inclement Weather Policy

In the best interest of both your dog and the health of the Courteous Canines employees, walks will not be occurring if:
    • The temperature is 10 degrees or more below zero with wind chill
    • There is a down pour (walks in "normal" rain storms will take place) or lightening storm.
    • The heat index is above 100 degrees
    • Walking surfaces are ice-covered
In the event of inclement weather, a visit to the home will still be made. The dog will be allowed outside to relieve him/herself and the rest of the visit will be comprised of a positive training session or owner-approved indoor game or activity. These activities include, but are not limited to:
      Ella
    • "hallway fetch"
    • gentle brushing
    • recall games
    • hide and seek with toys or treats
    • tug
Owners may request alternate activities for their dogs in other conditions should a walk in that weather impact the dog's physical health or well-being.
